The largest Tarpons in the world are caught in the bays and creeks on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.
Island Scenery
Cayo Frenchman is a picturesque island that offers a variety of geographical features amongst its 7+ acres. The island is covered with exotic tropical plants and trees that provide comfortable shade for those plentiful sunny days. On the northeastern side, the island soars to 80 feet above the blue water. The massive, rocky foundation of the island is clearly visible, as well as the many nests of the local booby birds who regularly ride the updrafts and fish the area from this beautiful vantage point. There are places to softly sway in a hammock, reading a book or napping, while listening to the consistent Caribbean breeze rustling through the palm trees. The southwestern part of the island is at sea level and features numerous coconut trees among the sand and Bermuda grass. Once again, hammocks and comfortable chairs are the preferred method of relaxation for adults, while children have plenty of room to run and play in the sun or shade of this beach area. The cooling waters of the sea are but a few short steps away. Sunrises are best observed from the top of the island - sunsets from the front porch with a cocktail! The house sits between these points with a commanding view of the sea to the north and the lower island to the west. The average year round temperature is 82 degrees, with lows reaching the low to mid 70's at night.
